On Osun state, they have resumed their operations.

The Kidnap

On Friday morning, kidnappers reportedly ambushed a vehicle at Ayepe Community along the Osogbo-Ikirun Road, Osun State.

Many persons were on a journey in that vehicle.

The rescued woman was among the victims of the ambush.

They were travelling along the Osogbo-Ikirun Road during the weekend.

As their vehicle came to a halt, the woman was abducted alongside other passengers that were onboard.

The Rescue

After reports of the ambush got to the security agencies, the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Osun State began the hunt.

It resulted in a encounter with the abductors which ended in the rescue of the woman.

Also, the Osun State command of the Nigeria Police Force Confirms the rescue.

The spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, sai one of the victims were rescued in the operation.

According to him, operations to free other abducted passengers have commenced.

Opalola also revealed that the driver of the vehicle that was attacked by the gunmen had been found.

“The operatives rescued the kidnap victim of Ikirun/Osogbo Road abduction that occurred on Friday.

“The woman has been rescued alive and taken to the hospital for necessary medical attention,” the police said.
