Edwin Clark, is an Ijaw leader and he has characterised Delta State’s immediate-past governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as a traitor and a cunning man.

Furthermore, Clark said that Okowa was chosen as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate for the 2023 presidential election on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform after spending Delta State funds on Atiku’s campaign.

“Let me tell you why the entire southern Nigeria considers Okowa as a traitor. Let me tell you, he’s a traitor.

“Okowa offered to host a gathering of the south’s 17 governors. He accommodated each and every one of them,” Clark added.

“He provided his secretariat; I know the secretary to the government at the time.

“They were there, they drafted the communique under his supervision, and they presented it to Akeredolu to read.

Link Up With Atiku

“In my letter, I asked him to respond.

“Who did the delegates of the PDP primary vote for?

“Did they vote for Wike or Akwa Ibom’s Emmanuel Udom?

“They all supported Atiku.

“So he duped his colleagues into believing that we should elect a president from the south, only to link up with Atiku to betray us.

“All of the governors are aware of this.

“He is a man who is highly ambitious, silent, and gives the false impression that he is a really good man.

“You’re a very clever man,” he said.
