Now, the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, is appealing to the legislative arm of the government for assistance and cooperation.

He believes it will help build a cordial working relationship with the administration.

The Governor made this appeal at a meeting with the Kano state House of Assembly members elected on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Tuesday.

The delegation, led by the newly elected Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, paid a visit to the Governor at the Government House shortly after the 10th Assembly was sworn in.

Governor Abba congratulated the new leadership and members.

He prayed to Almighty Allah for guidance in their legislative responsibilities and peaceful interactions with other branches of government.

He informed them of his administration’s willingness to engage and work together with the legislative branch to take the state to new heights.

He said: “We assure you of our administration’s readiness to work as two arms of government to propel our beloved state to greater heights.

“Your cooperation is critical in this regard because we are all working toward a common goal, which is the repositioning of Kano,” he remarked.

Cooperation Is Critical

Briefing reporters after the meeting, the Governor said: “Earlier, I met with members of Kano State’s 10th House of Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Jibril Falgore and his Deputy, Hon. Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu.

“I congratulated them on their new position and look forward to working with them in the future”.

In response, the new Speaker, Falgore, indicated the assembly’s willingness to collaborate with the executive branch to accomplish the desired results.

He praised the Governor for his vision and enthusiasm for Kano, stressing his administration’s tremendous achievements in the first two weeks.

“Your excellency, what you have achieved in less than two weeks of your administration clearly indicates your vision and passion for Kano.

“We are solidly behind you in this commendable gesture,” the legislator stated.

The Speaker was joined by his deputy, Muhammad Butu-Butu, the majority leader, Lawan Dala, the deputy majority leader, Garba Fammar,

Also with him was the chief whip, Muddasir Zawachiki, and other assembly members.

The call for a healthy working relationship between the executive and legislative branches is a determination to drive Kano state toward progress and prosperity, Abba Yusuf added.
