Therefore, to help market traders benefit from artificial intelligence, an AI training happened in Abeokuta.

The training brought fresh insight to all participants who were wowed by what they learned.

Market Traders Get AI Training From Microsoft

The traders in Abeokuta acquired the requisite skills to manipulate artificial intelligence to benefit their businesses.

These traders were part of the training organised by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

SMEDAN in partnership with Microsoft Nigeria trained about 500 traders during the skill acquisition programme.

The participants were market men, women, and youth who learned how to use AI to boost their businesses.

According to SMEDAN, the major reason for the AI training wa”s to help small business owners in Ogun State boost their sales.

The 500 traders were both physically present online.

Addressing journalists, the Assistant Director of SMEDAN, Dr Funto Babarinde, said: “We want them to know the usefulness of smartphones.

“We have been able to show them that the usefulness of smartphones goes beyond WhatsApp and Tik-Tok.

“Some of our trainees include fashion designers, real estate agencies, service producers, and retailers”.

Also, Babarinde said the AI training was to help teach them to make more money in their business sectors.

One of the beneficiaries, Rukayat Tolulope, said it was impactful and an eye-opener for her.

“It’s a solution to a problem I’ve been having, for some time now.

“I have been having problems with my business plan and thank God I now know AI can solve the problem for me”.

Also, as a System Analyst, Jimoh Ayo said the training had been wonderful.

“I have learned how AI training can help to improve my work,” he said.
