The long-running paternity case involving Jay-Z has officially come to an end. On Thursday, January 15, 2026, a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit filed by Rymir Satterthwaite with prejudice, effectively preventing any future attempts to revive the claims.

The case had revolved around Satterthwaite’s repeated efforts to compel a DNA test and pursue allegations that Jay-Z had declined.
After years of motions, filings, and disputes across both state and federal courts, the judge concluded that the claims lacked legal merit.
As part of the ruling, the court ordered Satterthwaite’s guardian to pay approximately $120,000 in legal fees to Jay-Z under California’s anti-SLAPP statute, which protects against lawsuits intended to silence or harass.
The judge sided with Jay-Z’s legal team, emphasising that the prolonged legal efforts were baseless.
The dismissal marks the official closure of the high-profile legal battle, ending a saga that had spanned multiple years and captured public attention.
