The Federal Government has encouraged indigenous companies to fully leverage the Nigeria First Policy.
This is a national strategy designed to strengthen local content, boost domestic production, and reduce reliance on imported goods and services.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, made the call in Abuja during a courtesy visit by the Managing Director and Founder of Solewant Group, Mr Solomon Ewanehi.
According to a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the SGF’s office, Akume reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment
Akume noted that the Nigeria First Policy is already delivering positive outcomes by enhancing local capacity, encouraging innovation, and stimulating industrial growth.
Also, he urged indigenous firms across various sectors to tap into new opportunities created under the policy.
He stresses that increased patronage and production of Nigerian-made goods would help build a stronger and more resilient economy.
The SGF also commended Solewant Group for its bold investments within the oil and gas value chain, particularly in steel pipe production, metal fabrication and specialised coating services.
Also, he added that the firm’s decision to take advantage of divestment openings left by departing International Oil Companies (IOCs) supports the Federal Government’s goal of strengthening local participation in the energy sector.
Ewanehi revealed that Solewant Group has expanded into producing steel pipes, coating materials and coated products for both Nigerian and African markets.
