Popular Nigerian content creator and comedian Carter Efe has publicly celebrated Davido for what he described as a career-defining show of support.
He expresses disappointment at Wizkid’s silence despite benefiting from his tribute song.

Speaking during a TikTok live session, Carter Efe praised the Afrobeats superstar for standing by him at a crucial point in his journey.
He credited Davido’s presence on his Twitch livestream as a major turning point.
The December 2025 livestream featured Davido as a guest, went on to break records, becoming one of the most-watched Twitch broadcasts by an African creator.
Also, the appearance significantly boosted Carter Efe’s visibility, followers, and overall reach.
“Davido is a legend and a real supporter,” he said. “He came to my livestream and changed the game for me.”
According to the comedian, the 30BG boss has consistently shown willingness to uplift upcoming creatives and contribute meaningfully to the growth of others in the entertainment space.
However, he did not hide his frustration with Wizkid, recalling how his 2022 hit single Machala topped charts across Nigeria and garnered millions of streams
However, he received no acknowledgement from the singer.
“I made a song for Wizkid, ‘Machala’, and it went number one,” he lamented. “But Wizkid couldn’t even say ‘hi’ to me. He replied Seun Kuti, but he didn’t reply me. Na that one pain me.”
