Locally and internationally, attention was focused on the swearing-in of Bola Tinubu as the new President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Kashim Shettima’s swearing-in at the Eagles Square, Abuja, also drew huge attention.
But across 28 states in the federation, 28 governors-elect took their oath of office in their respective states.
Among these 28 individuals, 10 old governors were reelected for a second term.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) produced 16 governors while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won ten seats.
Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have one each.
