Threads’ introduction comes amid a time of instability at Twitter since Tesla owner Elon Musk took over in October.

The billionaire restructured the firm, sacking thousands of employees and putting major functions behind a paywall.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, said in mid-March that it was developing a new social network that was described as a potential rival to Twitter.

According to the app store description, “Threads will allow users to connect directly with your favorite creators”.

Also, it says others who love the same things can build loyal followers of their own. This will enable them share their ideas, opinions, and creativity with the world.

“We’re thinking about a decentralised, independent social network for sharing written messages in real time,” the group stated in an AFP statement.

Musk Recent Improvement

Last week, Musk sparked outrage, announcing that the site will limit the number of tweets that a Twitter user can view every day.

People who do not pay for subscriptions—by far the bulk of users—will have a 1,000 tweets-per-day limit.

Basically, the declared goal of the move was to limit third-party use of the social network’s data, specifically those feeding artificial intelligence models.
