The Chief spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has reacted after certified documents were released by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois linking the party’s Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to drug trafficking and money laundering in Chicago.

The released documents, it was gathered allegedly indict the Presidential candidate of the APC Ahmed Bola Tinubu of drug dealings and money laundering in Chicago.

The documents which went viral on Tuesday evening, revealed details on Tinubu’s alleged indictment in drug deals and receipt of illegal money while in the U.S.

The 56-page document released showed the long-held view that Tinubu faced conviction on narcotics charges in the US especially with the revelation that he forfeited up to $460,000 to the U.S. authorities in 1993.

Reacting to the development in a series of tweets via his verified Twitter account on Wednesday, Keyamo accused opposition parties for being responsible for the fake story describing it as a sign of frustration.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment said the opposition carrying the news was frustrated with the success of Tinubu’s campaign and resulted to peddling fake story about the APC candidate.

He wrote: “Sign of frustration: They are seeking to wake a horse long dead and buried and for which a media house publicly apologized in 2016 when they tried to use the story.”

Keyamo stressed that mainstream media didn’t carry the story on the alleged story of Tinubu’s heroin involvement because it is fake and baseless.

He added: “Simply ask yourself why no mainstream media, both locally and internationally has posted their fake ‘drug’ story as ‘breaking news’ except these usual junk sites. Simple reason: those who tried it before were taken to court and they publicly apologized. An old, fake, recycled story!”
