Nigerian reality TV star and comedian, DeeOne, has called on the Federal Government to investigate the financial activities of all Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating in the country, citing concerns over alleged unlawful practices.

DeeOne made the call in a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, where he alleged that some NGOs are being used as fronts for criminal activities.
According to him, certain organizations have diverted funds to sponsor terrorism, kidnapping, human trafficking, and other serious crimes.
He appealed directly to the government to scrutinize NGO accounts nationwide, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in the sector.
“Federal Government of Nigeria, please investigate all the NGO accounts in the country,” DeeOne said. “A lot of them are being used to sponsor terrorism, kidnappers, child trafficking, and even human harvesting.”
The comedian further criticised what he described as a growing trend where individuals establish NGOs after a single act of charity and quickly amass wealth under questionable circumstances.
“In Nigeria today, if somebody rescues someone, the next thing they do is open an NGO, and suddenly they become multimillionaires,” he said.
“We’re not saying people shouldn’t make money, but it must be legitimate and not at the expense of people’s lives.”
