The Love Me Jeje singer shared this during an interactive session with fans on X.

When a fan asked what she was currently looking forward to and whether she had fulfilled her pre-stardom dreams, Tems responded:

“I’m looking forward to whatever the Lord has in store and honestly I’ve achieved beyond my dreams from when I had a 9–5.”

Tems officially began her music career after resigning from her job as a digital marketer in January 2018.

She released her debut single, Mr Rebel, later that year, gaining early attention in the industry.

Her major breakthrough came in 2020 after featuring on Wizkid’s global hit Essence, which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 following Justin Bieber’s remix.

In 2023, Tems made history as the first female Afrobeats artiste to win a Grammy for her contribution to Future and Drake’s Wait For U, which won Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards.

She further cemented her legacy in 2025 by winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, making her the only Nigerian artist with multiple Grammys.

Tems has also earned Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for co-writing Rihanna’s Lift Me Up.
