Accusations are flying around over what is obtainable in Birinin Magaji, and the Housing and Urban Development Affairs Commissioner has now spoken up.

Kabiru Moye, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Affairs, has denied accusations from some quarters.

The accusations are that there is political friction in the state’s Birnin Magaji Local Government Area due to the imposition of a Caretaker Chairman and Councillors.

Moye told reporters in his office that some persons were vying for the role of Caretaker Chairman and Councillors, but when they didn’t receive it, they started causing political havoc.

He claimed that individuals attempting to sow political discord within the PDP in the state’s local government areas are working for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The State Governor has the constitutional authority to choose anybody he wants to serve in any role, according to Governor Dauda Lawal.

He formed the caretaker committee to choose caretaker chairman and councillors who will serve for six months until the election.

“The Governor constituted the selection committee for the members to work out modalities and select capable people that can oversee the affairs of the Local Government Area Council for six months”, he added.

“The caretaker chairman is not even from Birinin Magaji ward but from Madomawa village.

“However, the rumour mongers were saying that Birinin Magaji ward produced caretaker chairman and a councillor which is very much far from being the truth”

The Commissioner questioned why people should be vying for posts while the state administration has yet to complete its first 100 days in office, claiming that the governor should share more positions.

He urged the disgruntled parties to quit generating political havoc and to help the current administration thrive, noting that the government is currently confronting the state’s teething insecurity.
