The national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja was burbling on Monday.
It was not because INEC office was sharing money. People who are not happy about the pronouncement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the Presidential election were the ones making the office burble.
The ‘black’ protest was led by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
They are demanding the cancellation of the presidential election held on Saturday, February 25.
The ‘Black Uniform’ Protest
The Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, other leaders and supporters of the party gathered at the Legacy House Maitama to begin their protest March to INEC National Headquarters.
The PDP protest is tagged, ‘black uniform’ protest.
Other PDP leaders invited to the protest match include the Chairman of PCC and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel; the DG of PCC and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.
The statement by the PDP read: “Governors of Bayelsa, Edo, Adamawa, Bauchi, Taraba and Osun States; Former Senate Presidents, Senator David Mark and Senator Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, BOT members, NEC members, PDP Senators and House of Representatives Members, NWC members of the party, DDGs, Directors, Deputies and Assistant Directors of NCMC”.

‘Agbero-Class’ Protest
Reacting to the development, many Nigerians tackled the party over the protest.
They say it is purposeless.
Adamu Garba, a loyalist of the All Progressives Congress (APC), confirmed the protest.
He says his office is just two blocks away from the INEC headquarters.

Garba mocked the PDP saying; he can count fewer that 500 persons in the protest.
He describes the protest as “a typical agbero-class protest”.

I find PDP's protest to INEC office grossly purposeless.

My office is two blocks away from the INEC office, from my window, I can count fewer than 500 people protesting with Atiku Abubakar. I can also hear Dino Melaye's voice shouting PDP and singing Ole. A typical agbero-class protest. This is condescending.
