The 11th floor of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) situated in Yaba Lagos was gutted by fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The fire which was believed to have started around 4 am on Wednesday rocked the floor till responders were able to subdue it.

The eyewitness said the fire would have escalated, if not for proactive measures taken by swift first responders.

iBrand TV reporter found out that the fire was subdued around 7 am on Wednesday with the use of fire extinguishers in the building.

Officials in the building refused to make comments on the incident, and efforts to speak with the Lagos state fire service did not yield much result as well.

Activities around the WAEC Yaba office became paralyzed for the day due to the fire outbreak.

Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Fire Service did not yield many results.

It is yet to be known what caused the fire in the first place.
