The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has revealed that from 2024, there would be CBT exams for a few students.

WAEC says it will conduct its 2024 WASSCE for private candidates using the Computer Based Test, CBT platform.

The council’s Acting Head, Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, issued a statement to this effect on Monday in Lagos.

According to her, the innovation will begin with the 2024 First Series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE slated for February.

“In line with global best practices, the national office of WAEC wishes to inform the general public, and all its stakeholders, that we have concluded plans to migrate WASSCE for private candidates examination diets, from Paper and Pencil Test (PPT) to Computer Based Test CBT).

“Furthermore, the examination will be conducted in urban centers/cities. Also, we factored candidates with special needs into the plan.

“Registration for the examination will commence on Monday, December 18,” she said.

According to her, WAEC had concluded arrangements for a mock examination in February 2024, ahead of the main examination.
