The Nigerian Actor, Adebowale Adedayo ‘Mr Macaroni’ is a staunch supporter of Obi and has, on many occasions, said he would be voting for the LP candidate in the February 25 general elections.

A Twitter user (@iam_deUltimate), on Wednesday, shared a flyer of the mega rally of the Labour Party to be held in Lagos on Saturday.

On the flyer, notable persons like activist Aisha Yesufu, music duo PSquare, and J Martin are expected to be in attendance.

A picture of Macaroni was also put on the flyer that he was going to attend the rally.

But Mr. Macaroni found the tweet and in his response, he said his picture was used without his permission.

“I will address this again for clarity sake. I am voting for Peter Obi because he is MY preferred choice.

“It is my civic duty to vote but I’m not obliged to campaign for him or any other Politician. I am not against others who do so but this was put out without my consent,” he said.

Support Translating To Campaigning And Sponsoring

BBC in a report revealed how Nigerian Influencers are being paid to discredit other candidates ahead of the election.

On several occasions, Macaroni has shown support for Obi’s presidential ambition and many times people have translated this to mean he is sponsoring LP.

In a tweet in January 2023, the actor advised Nigerians to “open your eyes” while voting, after declaring once again, his intention to vote for Obi.

“I don’t know about you but Peter Obi most definitely has my vote.

“Dear Nigerians, please open your eyes and vote your conscience. I am voting mine,” he said.

A fan once accused him of using his influence to get more votes and campaign for Obi.

In response, Mr Macaroni asked about other celebrities who have used their influence to campaign for other candidates and what had been done about them.

He said, “I will not influence anyone to vote for anyone!!! If encouraging people to get their PVC (Permanent Voters Card) and vote for the right candidate is not enough, then find cane and flog me.

“A lot of Celebrities have pledged support to Peter Obi, Tinubu, Atiku, Sowore.. what have you done with that?”
