Many Nigerians say they have lost hope in Nigeria, others say they are not proud to be Nigerians.

The reason is not hidden, it is because of the recent elections held in the country.

The 2023 Elections

The 2023 elections is indeed an eye opener for Nigerians.

Nigerians, especially youths, who were less concerned with the politics of the country are now actively involved. Many are vying for positions.

These people went all out, sacrificing all they can in the battle for a better Nigeria.

Before the 2023 elections, Nigerians in high spirits were hopeful of a new and better country.

Unfortunately, after the elections, those who expected a different outcome had their hopes shattered.

Lagos Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the winner of the governorship election in Lagos State.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the seating governor of the state, has been re-elected as governor of Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His victory stirs mixed reactions from Nigerians, especially those who have lost hope in the country.

Sanwo-Olu’s Victory

Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to defeat Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of Labour Party (LP) who gathered 312,329 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Adbul-Azeez Adediran, railed in third place with 62,449 votes.

The declaration was delayed as the INEC officials awaited the results from the elections in Eti-Osa local government held on Sunday, March 19.

According to the results from the local government, APC polled 25,063 votes, PDP 1,468 while LP secured 19,967.

Nigerians’ React To Sanwo-Olu’s Victory

Sanwo-Olu’s victory at the poll has whipped up mixed reactions from many netizens, with many applauding the votes polled by LP amidst the thugs’ attacks.

Many people are disappointed with the election process, they are not satisfied with INEC’s performance.
