Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening Kano State’s diplomatic ties with the French Republic.
This assurance was made by the governor at a meeting with the French Ambassador to Nigeria on Friday at the government house.
Aminu Gwarzo, the Governor’s Deputy, lauded the work of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Gwarzo also stated that he had and maintained a positive connection with the French government.
Senator Kwankwaso’s development of French-speaking secondary schools in Madobi town, as well as two others in the Republic of Niger, was especially mentioned by Gwarzo.

Emmanuelle Blatmann, the French Ambassador to Nigeria, explained the delegation’s visit to Kano during her remarks.
According to Blatman, the purpose of the tour is to propose various development initiatives to the state administration.
Also she said it would be geared towards providing job opportunities and improving the state’s economic standing.
Blatmann said that the French government has long been involved in private-sector agricultural collaboration.
She underlined the importance of encouraging women to pursue agricultural technical education and apprenticeships.

Blatmann revealed that the French government has invested about three billion Euros through the French Agency for Development.
This they have done in numerous beneficial programmes for Nigerian citizens, of which Kano State has been a benefactor for the past 12 years.
The Initiative
These initiatives include urban water supply, urban mobility, energy grid projects, and higher education projects. Project for Mass Transportation.
Request for the Rehabilitation/Revival of the Kano French Culture Centre, as well as the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
On behalf of Governor Yusuf, Deputy Governor Gwarzo informed the French Ambassador that the Kano State administration will thoroughly consider all proposed projects.
“Thereafter, the state government will send an invitation to the French government to discuss ways to implement these projects,” Abdussalam explained.
