Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, in a lengthy statement on Saturday, tackled President Muhammadu Buhari over the hardship faced by Nigerians under his administration as the President marks his 80th birthday anniversary.

However, while Nigerians and world leaders are sending in their congratulatory message to Buhari, Omokri, who was an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, took to his social media page to call out the leader.
According to him, Nigerians now take loans to feed themselves because the nation’s economy has crumbled under Buhari.
Omokri said he has no wishes for the President because his administration has inflicted pain on the citizens. The socio-political activists said Buhari’s birthday comes when Nigeria’s debt profile has surged.
Omokri who is a staunch supporter of the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said when Buhari came into office in 2015, the country was much better than it is today.

He said, “It is rather poignantly coincidental that on the day General Buhari marks his 80th birthday, it was revealed that Nigeria is now one of the top 4 debtors to the World Bank. We are the fourth most indebted nation. Only India, Pakistan and Bangladesh owe more than us. “In 2015, Nigeria was rich, and Buhari was poor. In 2022, Buhari is rich, and Nigeria is poor. I see no reason to wish the person who achieved such an extraordinary destiny a happy birthday.
