Now, Idowu Adeyemi, a popular Nigerian actor and singer also known as Yhemolee, is one of such persons feeling the heat.
The pressure heaped on individual’s income by the removal of petrol subsidy and the unification of dollar is already showing in his pocket.
He laments the way things are in Nigeria after President Bola Tinubu took over office.
According to him, the recent hike in fuel price is worsening economic hardship in Nigeria.
Brutal Administration
Yhemolee spoke in a video message shared via his Instagram page.
To him, even the rich were affected by the current economic crisis.
He said many Nigerians could no longer go to their places of works and businesses because of the hike in pump price of fuel.

“One Pounds is now ₦1100, one dollar is ₦850. It cost me ₦52,000 to fill my range rover and ₦32,000 for my Chevrolet. That is ₦80,000 plus for petrol of car. And I will fill both two times in a week. ₦160,000 in a week for petrol times four that is ₦640,000 in a month.”
The minimum wage of an average worker in Nigeria is 30,000.
In real sense, just very few in Lagos can boast of earning more than 700,000 Naira per month.
Spending over 25,000 to fuel a car in a week will be a huge expense for most salary earners now.
