The Federal Government on Monday announced the that operations of the Abuja-Kaduna train will begin he end of November 2022.

Recall that the Nigerian Railway Corporation had put services on the route on hold since March this year following an attack by dreaded terrorists.

Recall that dreaded terrorists about eight months ago attacked a moving passenger train heading to Kaduna, and killed and kidnapped scores of passengers.

Subsequently released the captives were released in batches. The government had earlier declared through the Managing Director of Nigeria Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, that it will not resume services on the route until all the captives are released.

Okhiria who spoke to newsmen in Lagos in late September said the corporation had restored the damaged rolling stock and fixed the track.

In the latest development, however, the Minister Of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, announced today while giving the scorecard of his ministry in Abuja said that adequate security had been put in place to ensure the safety of passengers.

As at the time of filing this report, the minister,  did not mention the date of the rail’s commencement of service.
