If there is anything Nigerians are eagerly waiting for now, it is the commencement of the Presidential Election Tribunal.

Indeed, it could become a ‘season film’ that will keep Nigerians glued to their televisions if the Tribunal will listen to a demand by a human rights lawyer.

He believes the move would enhances the credibility of the judiciary.

Some persons alleged that they have lost their trust in the judicial system, especially after reports of CJN Ariwoola’s secret meeting with Bola Tinubu in London.

Spokespersons for both men have denied the claim, saying it was fake news.

However, Nigerians are very much interested in the proceedings of the tribunal.

They want it to be aired live for all to see.

Live Tribunal

Falana, who is a Senior Advocate, made the same demand while speaking on the petition by the National President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Yakubu Maikyau for the proceedings of the tribunal to be aired live.

In an interview on Channels TV, he says such development will put the judiciary in good light and make the process transparent.

Nothing To Hide

Falana said: “I have always campaigned for that and that is the trend in Africa. In Ghana and Kenya, the proceedings are televised because judges should have nothing to hide. They should invite the media and the members of the public.
