At a time when many are celebrating and others are praying and hoping to transit into the New Year, an accident has killed two along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Over speeding and driving with reckless abandon, caused the accident that claimed the life of two, and injured six.

Two persons died on Tuesday while six others sustained injuries in an accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

It was gathered that the lone accident, involving a Toyota Hiace bus marked ACA 607 XT, occurred around Car Park C on the highway.

This is coming barely 24 hours after two persons died in an accident on the expressway.

The Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

She said the lone crash was caused by speeding and loss of control.

Okpe said that eight men were involved in the crash, six of them were severely injured and two persons were recorded dead.

“The injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital, Mowe while the deceased were deposited at the same hospital morgue,” she said.

Okpe quoted the state Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, as advising motorists to drive with stipulated speed limit in order to avoid crashes.
