The town of Owo, Ondo State, was awash with the presence of signatories for the funeral rites of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the age of 67.

The death of the political figure though accompanied with heartbreak, also reaffirmed the political relevance and impact that Akeredolu had in the Nigerian political space.

The Funeral Rites

The ceremony began at St. Andrews Church, located on Imola Street.

This marked the start of a series of events planned to honour the late governor.

The Last Respect

Also present are, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje; Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among many others.

Meanwhile, the interment followed immediately after the funeral Service at the burial sit in Owo.
