Grammy award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has opened up on his best birthday gift.
Really, one may find what Burna Boy describes as his best birthday gift amusing. But for him, there is a moment in that day that he holds so dearly.
The Afrobeats star disclosed that his most treasured birthday experience was when he was taken to a kids’ park as a child to watch legendary Nigerian musician, Daddy Showkey’s performance.
The superstar stated this in a recent chat with Ebro of Apple Music.
Love Damini
The Port Harcourt-born singer said his sixth studio album ‘Love, Damini’ which he released around his birthday last year, was a recreation of that happy childhood birthday experience.
He said: “You got the ‘Love, Damini’ album, you see what’s in the record: I’m happy it is my birthday. I’m bringing you into that [happiness].

“My favourite birthday ever that I can remember in life, was when I got taken to a kids’ park as a child and I got to watch Daddy Showkey perform for the first time.
“So, I kind of wanted to recreate that [in my album]”.
