There are two speakers in the State Legislative Arm of Government.

The emergence of the two speakers, both members of the ruling party, has caused chaos in the house.

Now, the police have blocked off the Assembly Complex on Wednesday to prevent a collapse of law and order.

During simultaneous sittings on Tuesday, the immediate past Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, who was seeking a third term, won a reelection.

However, Hon. Daniel Ogazi, a member representing Kokona East district in the Assembly, was also elected as speaker.

While Balarabe-Abdullahi was elected at a meeting held at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ogazi was elected at the State Assembly complex.

Thirteen members-elect, including those from opposition political parties, were thought to be faithful to Ogazi, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, 11 members are loyal to Balarabe-Abdullahi, who is also an APC member in the state.
