Crisis is looming in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and the members of the party that participated in the 2022 governorship election are going to have a share of the effect.

According to a top member of the party in the state, the members of the party who participated in anti-party activities during the 2022 governorship and 2023 general elections will soon find out their fate.

The Acting Chairman of the APC in Osun State, Tajudeen Lawal, issued the warning in Ilesa on Friday.

He was speaking at a homecoming celebration and award ceremony honouring previous political office holders in Ijesaland.

Ex-governor Adegboyega Oyetola, ex-Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Charles Akinola are among those honoured.

Remi Omowaiye, ex-Commissioner for Works; Timothy Owoeye, ex-Speaker; and Lawrence Ayeni and Ajibola Famurewa, former members of the House of Representatives, were also included.

The chairman of the Osun party urged members to be faithful and support the party.

He went on to say that with hard effort and dedication, the APC would retake power in the state by 2026.

Not Restructuring The Party

During a recent visit to the state, the ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, stated that the party’s doors were open to members willing to sincerely apologise.

Furthermore, Lawal stated that the group’s perspective differed from that of the APC leadership in the state.

“We are the party, and we know the members of our party.

“We know who supported Tinubu and Oyetola in the recent presidential and governorship elections.

“At the appropriate time, the party will issue its decision on the matter.

He added that “we are not restructuring the party; the party exists in Osun under the leadership of Baba Bisi Akande and Gboyega Oyetola.

“At the appropriate time, we will reveal our plans for those who participated in anti-party activities.

“I read what our party’s Igbimo Agba said, but they are only advising the party.

“The party will state its position on it. People should simply wait a little longer”.
