Celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest denied participating in the APC primary election in Imo State.
The controversy started after reports claimed he scored only 14 votes during the APC primary.

However, Cubana Chief Priest insisted he never attended or participated in the primary election process.
He explained that Governor Hope Uzodimma shared the party’s zoning arrangement before the primary election.
According to him, the governor said his local government should wait before producing the constituency representative.
Additionally, he said his brother, Jerry Alagboso, previously represented the constituency for three parliamentary terms.
Party Zoning Influences Withdrawal
After the discussion, Okechukwu accepted the party’s decision and voluntarily withdrew from the race.
Meanwhile, the businessman said dissatisfaction with current representation pushed him towards the 2027 political ambition.

His comments targeted current lawmaker Canice Nwachukwu, who emerged during the APC primary process.
Furthermore, Okechukwu said the party communicated its decision shortly before the primary election started.
Instead of attending the venue, he immediately returned to Lagos after receiving the party’s instructions.
He also rejected rumours claiming he owed supporters money after abandoning the political ambition.
According to him, online critics deliberately spread rumours to damage his public reputation.
Despite the controversy, he remained proud of increasing political awareness within the constituency.
The incident attracted online reactions, while Seyi Tinubu encouraged him over future political success.
Finally, Okechukwu reaffirmed loyalty to the APC and pledged support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027.
