Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has regained his freedom after spending a week in prison.
The artiste was released on Monday, January 19, 2026, after fulfilling his bail conditions. His release comes days after he was remanded in custody over allegations of assault and theft.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Portable maintained his innocence, claiming he was falsely accused. “They lied against me. I’m innocent,” the singer said.
Portable was remanded in prison last week following accusations made by his baby mama, Ashabi Simple, and her siblings.
The dispute reportedly began on New Year’s Eve, after a video showing a heated altercation between the singer and Ashabi surfaced online.
In the footage, Ashabi was seen holding onto Portable’s clothes while shouting, “Pami baby” (Baby, you have to kill me).
After the incident, Ashabi and her siblings reportedly had the singer arrested, accusing him of assault and stealing their vehicle.
The singer was subsequently arraigned last Monday January 12, 2026, on a nine-count criminal charge bordering on theft, assault, causing harm, and resisting arrest before the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State.
The presiding judge ordered his remand and adjourned the case for a fresh bail hearing on Monday, January 19, 2026.
With his release, the case is expected to continue as legal proceedings move forward.
