The landmark feat was achieved on December 26, 2025, when Adekunle Gold headlined his acclaimed concert, “FUJI: An Iconic Show,” filling the 3,500-capacity auditorium to the brim and setting a new record at the iconic venue.

To recognise the achievement, organisers presented Adekunle Gold with a plaque celebrating his status as the first artiste to headline and completely sell out the Wole Soyinka Centre.

A second plaque was also awarded to Something Different Management, Events and Record Label, the organisers of the historic concert.

The show was widely praised for its artistic depth, as Adekunle Gold blended Afrobeats, Fuji and orchestral sounds while performing with a live orchestra and his band.

The night also featured appearances from notable music stars, adding to the significance of the event.

Beyond the personal milestone for the singer, the sold-out concert has been described as a major moment for Nigeria’s creative industry, reinforcing the Wole Soyinka Centre’s place as a premier hub for culture, music and live entertainment following its renovation.
