Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has set a new milestone on Spotify.

He emerges as the African artiste with the biggest streaming year ever after amassing nearly 2 billion streams in 2025.

Burna Boy recorded an impressive 1.986 billion streams on Spotify within the year.

This placing him ahead of fellow African heavyweights Wizkid, Tyla, Rema and Davido.

According to Spotify’s 2025 streaming figures, Wizkid ranked second with 1.81 billion streams, while South African sensation Tyla followed closely in third place with 1.67 billion streams.

Rema secured the fourth spot with 1.63 billion streams, as Davido rounded off the top five with 1.58 billion streams.

Completing the top 10 are Asake (1.52 billion), Ayra Starr (1.47 billion), CKay (1.38 billion), Seyi Vibez (1.32 billion) and Mr Eazi (1.26 billion).
