Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has clarified the role of his former bandmate Faze in the ongoing feud between him and ex-Plantashun Boiz member Blackface.
The long-standing rift, which dates back to the 2000s after the disbandment of Plantashun Boiz, has seen Blackface repeatedly accuse 2Baba of intellectual property theft a claim the singer has consistently denied.
Speaking to fans during his performance at the Made in Benue Festival in Makurdi, 2Baba stated that Faze has remained neutral in the dispute and is not involved in the ongoing tensions.
“You all know that Plantashun Boiz consisted of Blackface, 2Face, and Faze.”
“But due to some unforeseen circumstances, Blackface is not with us right now.”
“However, no matter the beef wey me and Blackface get, nothing concern Faze inside.”
So, Faze is right here with me and we will represent Plantashun Boiz,” he stated.
Since their split, attempts to reconcile 2Face and Blackface have been sporadic, with peace efforts often short-lived.
Meanwhile, 2Baba and Faze continue to perform together, representing the legacy of the iconic group.
