Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has thrown his weight behind colleague Ini Edo amid the backlash from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) over the title of her new movie, A Very Dirty Christmas.
In a strongly worded post shared on Instagram, Ogbonna expressed disappointment at CAN’s sudden reaction.

He noted that the film’s title and promotional materials had been in circulation for months without any objection.
He pointed out that the movie title had received official approval from the National Film and Video Censors Board and that the production team proceeded in good faith.
According to him, raising concerns only after the film had been released nationwide and gained commercial success raises questions about fairness and consistency.
IK Ogbonna stressed that the issue goes beyond disagreement, emphasising the importance of integrity and accountability.
“This isn’t about conflict,” he stated, “it’s about fairness, consistency, and integrity. How Christian is it to remain silent for months and only speak up after progress has been made?”
