Over three decades, he travelled across Nigeria, Europe and other parts of Africa.
Now, the veteran filmmaker has started a new journey into politics and public service.

Entering The Political Stage
Duker officially joined the House of Representatives race under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
He aims to represent Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
Recently, the media entrepreneur collected his Expression of Interest and nomination forms for the election.
As a result, his decision attracted attention across Cross River because of his entertainment background.
Fidelis Duker Building Global Connections
Duker founded the Abuja International Film Festival, West Africa’s longest-running film festival.
Through the platform, he promoted African films and talents to international audiences for many years.
In addition, he serves as Regional Secretary General of the Federation of Pan African Filmmakers (FEPACI).

Throughout his career, he built global partnerships and joined international creative industry discussions.
For instance, Duker attended major events, including the famous Cannes Film Festival in France.
Consequently, he believes his experience can attract development opportunities to communities within the constituency.
Focus On Youth Development
Speaking after collecting nomination forms, Duker said the constituency deserves stronger representation.
According to him, young people need opportunities, infrastructure and practical leadership for meaningful development.
Duker studied at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Crawford University and Cross River University of Technology.
Furthermore, he received professional training from UCLA, BBC Training Academy and Deutsche Welle Training Akademie.
Beyond filmmaking, Duker leads FAD Media Productions, owners of radio and television stations in Nigeria.
Through these businesses, he employs many young people, especially within Cross River’s growing media industry.
Meanwhile, Duker promised to focus on youth empowerment, technology projects and transparent leadership.
He also plans to attract foreign investment into Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South communities.
Therefore, supporters believe his private-sector experience could bring fresh ideas into Cross River politics.
