Former Big Brother Naija star Kiddwaya has sparked fresh debate online after asserting that his father, prominent businessman Terry Waya, played a key role in the discovery of Banana Island.

Kiddwaya made the revelation during a recent appearance on the Off The Record podcast.
The host, seeking clarity on long-standing rumours surrounding his father’s influence, asked:
“I heard that your dad discovered Banana Island. Is that correct?”
To this, Kiddwaya confirmed:
“Yeah, I didn’t even know until I heard it during one of my trips.”
His response has since triggered a wave of reactions.
