The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who also owns X (formerly Twitter) and AI startup xAI, saw his fortune surge as Tesla’s stock value climbed roughly 14% this year.

Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index

According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Musk’s wealth peaked at $500 billion before settling around $499.1 billion.

The sharp rise in Musk’s net worth is largely tied to Tesla’s market rebound.

The company’s shares, which started the year at $427.90 and later dipped to $220.67 amid controversy surrounding Musk’s brief government stint in Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), have since recovered strongly.

After resigning from the government post in May, Elon Musk refocused his efforts on Tesla, restoring investor confidence and driving the automaker’s renewed success.

Beyond Telsa

Elon Musk’s immense fortune is spread across ventures including SpaceX, xAI, and Neuralink, all valued in the billions.

Financial experts suggest that if his current trajectory continues, Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire within a few years.

To put the figure in perspective, Musk’s $500 billion fortune would rank as the 31st largest economy in the world just below Austria and ahead of countries like Norway, Malaysia, and South Africa.

His wealth is 125 times greater than the value of Britain’s Crown Jewels, 20 times the cost of London’s Elizabeth Line, and ten times the estimated $45.5 billion valuation of the Louvre Museum.

Meanwhile, the tech world continues to race ahead.

Rival firm Science Corporation recently announced a breakthrough in neurotechnology with its PRIMA eye chip, designed to restore vision through a brain-computer interface.

Clinical trials across 17 global sites, including London’s Moorfields Eye Hospital, showed 84% of participants experienced significant visual improvement within 12 months.
