Legendary actor, director, and producer Robert Redford has passed away at the age of 89
According to multiple US media reports, the Hollywood veteran died peacefully in his sleep early Tuesday morning at his home in Sundance, Utah.

Also, his longtime publicist, Cindi Berger, confirmed the news.
He noted that Redford was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing.
“He will be missed greatly,” Berger said, adding that the family has requested privacy as they mourn.
Born Charles Robert Redford Jr. on August 18, 1936, in Santa Monica, California, Redford rose to international fame after his breakout role alongside Paul Newman in the 1969 Western classic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
The film cemented him as a Hollywood leading man.
This followed by acclaimed performances in The Sting, All the President’s Men, and The Great Gatsby.
In the 1980s, Redford transitioned to directing and went on to win an Academy Award for Best Director for Ordinary People (1980).
Also, his influence grew even further when he co-founded the Sundance Film Festival
The festival has since become one of the most important platforms for independent cinema worldwide.

Beyond his cinematic achievements, Redford was also known as a dedicated environmental activist.
He championed causes to preserve Utah’s natural landscapes and advocating for climate protection throughout his life.
