American rapper Lil Nas X is set to remain in police custody through the weekend after being arrested for battery on a police officer and hospitalised over a possible overdose.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the 26-year-old cannot be released on citation due to the seriousness of the charge and must appear before a judge on Monday, August 25.2025. before bail can be considered.
Authorities said the charge falls under Penal Code 69 (a) PC, which accuses him of using force or violence to resist or obstruct an officer.
The incident occurred early Thursday, August 21, 2025, on Ventura Boulevard, where witnesses reported seeing the “Old Town Road” star behaving erraticallywalking in the street in just underwear and cowboy boots, singing, and posing.
When officers arrived, he allegedly charged at them, leading to his restraint and hospitalization before being booked.
Reports suggest his family is increasingly concerned about his behavior and may stage an intervention.
