Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, has announced a new feature to Whatsapp.

On Thursday, Meta made the announcement on their official website.

The company owned by Mark Zuckerberg, one of the world’s richest individuals, said it was looking to address the problem of users having to log in and out of accounts or carry multiple devices.

According to the company, the new development would mean that users no longer worry about responding to messages with the wrong account.

The statement read: “Today, we’re introducing the ability to have two WhatsApp accounts logged in at the same time.

“Helpful for switching between accounts – such as your work and personal – now you no longer need to log out each time, carry two phones or worry about messaging from the wrong place.

“To set up a second account, you will need a second phone number and SIM card, or a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM.

“Simply open your WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to your name, and click ‘Add account’. You can control your privacy and notification settings on each account”.

Also, Meta warned users not to download fake adaptations of its app such as GB WhatsApp, but to use only the authentic WhatsApp application.
