According to the poster, Usman Baba is seeking to contest in the Yobe South senatorial district election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) following the resignation of the current senator, Ibrahim Geidam to become a minister.

Recall that Geidam, who is the serving senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District in Yobe State, was among the second batch of ministerial nominees forwarded to the red chamber by President Bola Tinubu last week.
