The Police Command in Adamawa says the dreaded “Shila Boys” killed a 37-year-old man, Umar Abdulkadir.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, made the disclosure in an interview with reporters in Yola on Saturday.
Shila Boys are light weapon-bearing youths who are terrorising some communities in Adamawa and some other places.

They specialise in snatching mobile phones, jewellery and other valuables.
Nguroje said the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday.
The youths had attempted to snatch Abdulkadir’s mobile phones on Ajiya Street in Yola-North Local Government Area.
According to him, the command received the information at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Nguroje said that an investigation into the killing had begun to ensure the arrest of all those involved.
