Never in the history of Nigeria have the young, old, youth, and even people in the diaspora looked forward to participating in the presidential election with as much anticipation as they do now.
Over the years, Nigeria as a nation has been faced with various challenges like fuel scarcity, insecurity, power outages, unemployment, corruption, and so on.
The citizens are optimistic that the winner of the 2023 presidential election will help fix the issues that have lingered for so long.
This is why they are eager to rewrite the story of their nation by voting for the candidate who they think will make Nigeria better than it used to be.
The 2023 presidential election, which is to be held on February 25, 2023, is around the corner.
However, there are processes for voting during the election, which are: accreditation, voting, sorting, and recording.

Due to the population of voters in each polling unit, these processes may take a while to be completed, so there are things you should have as you go out to vote.
Have Your PVC
A permanent voter card is the first item a voter should have, as that is your identity as an eligible individual to vote. Without this card, the electoral body will not allow you to vote.
Face Cap
Your head is a precious part of your body. You need a face cap to protect your head from direct exposure to the sun, especially if you will be in an open space for a long period of time.
Comfortable clothing
Whatever your choice of clothing on election day is, make sure it is comfortable, as you may need to stand, sit, walk, lie down, or even run depending on the duration of the voting process and for security reasons.
Water Bottle
Absolutely, you need a bottle of water. Dehydration is a real thing and it could make a person faint. Have you noticed how hot the weather is?
Make sure that you have water to drink just in case you get thirsty or to rinse your face if need be.
Snacks
What is life without food, even on the day of the presidential election?
Although, home-made food may not come in handy, you should have snacks with you so that hunger will not disenfranchise you.
Sunshade/Umbrella
Nobody knows what the weather will be like on election day; you may need sunscreen to protect your eyes from the sun or an umbrella if it rains.
Remember that members of the Peoples Democratic Party may not have enough umbrella to accommodate you.
That an umbrella is their logo does not mean they have it in a reasonable amount.
Power Bank
In today’s world, mobile phones are like a man’s best friend.
A power bank will prevent your phone’s battery from going dead so you can be reachable for security reasons and to follow up on election updates.
Safety First
It is imperative that you are always alert and check for escape routes in the voting centers, just in case violence breaks out.
If possible, do not go to the polling unit with expensive items like a car, laptop, jewelry, etc., as robbers also come to the polling unit disguised as voters.
The Reality
The Presidential Elections will come and go, but it is the responsibility of the citizens to shun every form of violence before, during, and after the elections, no matter who wins.
