Three girls between the ages of seven and ten years got drowned while swimming in a river at Ondo town, Ondo West council area of the state.
iBrandTV gathered that the deceased lyabo Isiaka, Nife Akinnuoye, and Seun Segun were friends from different parents
The news of the ugly incident created a serious panic in the town as parents and guardians rushed to the scene to ascertain the identities of the deceased only to behold the corpses of the three girls floating on river Oluwa in Sabo area of the town.
A source told iBrandTV that the friends had gone to the river to swim during the week only to be swept away and drowned in the river.

The only survivor, a boy who reportedly was standing at the river bank noticed the girls have been swept away and thereafter raised alarm.
His distress cries attracted elderly people who rushed to the river bank to see if they could still salvage the situation.
But by the time they knew what was happening, it was the lifeless and bloated bodies of the three girls that were seen floating on the river.
Residents who trooped to the scene wept uncontrollably as their bloated corpses were recovered from the river by some divers invited by sympathisers and elders in the town.
The state police spokesperson, Tee Leo lkoro, however, said that the three girls fell from the bridge into the river and got drowned.
Ikoro said four of the children were actually involved but the only boy escaped and went home to inform the parents of the deceased.
He noted that the girls got drowned before help could come.
The police image maker who described the incident as unfortunate said that the deceased has been buried by their parents. End
