The dollar is rising so fast against the naira, insecurity issues still linger, and many are being rendered homeless as demolitions of structures are ongoing in some parts of the country.

Numerous Challenges

Amidst all these issues, Nigerians are clueless as to who to channel their grievances to.

This is because claims are everywhere that President Bola Tinubu and his vice president, Kashim Shettima, have been away from the country for some time now.

This has drawn so many reactions.

One of those that are adding their voice to this is a former Vice President and 2023 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

He believes the alleged absence of President Tinubu may have put the country on autopilot.

“I have been inundated by reports of the absence of the president and vice president from the country.

“It is unprecedented that the two leaders will be absent from the country at the same time, especially now that the nation is faced with daunting challenges.

President Bola Tinubu made a trip to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the World Economic Forum’s (WEF’s) Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.

The two-day forum, which aimed to assist public and private sector leaders in addressing shared global challenges, commenced on Sunday, April 28, and concluded on Monday, April 29, 2024.

However, up until this very moment, President Tinubu is yet to return to Nigeria. It is six days after the said event.
