Keyamo Requests Access To INEC Server
Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN)

The spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, is asking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to give him access to its server.

Mr Keyamo is requesting that political parties get access to the “central server” of the electoral umpire.

According to him, this will help political parties to monitor the results of the forthcoming elections in real time.

Mr Keyamo is also Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Productivity.

Also, he believes that granting all political parties real-time access to the server will boost the credibility of the poll.

“If BVAS results are transmitted to a central server from the units, it means the central server is a Collation Center for this purpose.

“Therefore, for transparency, should ALL PARTIES not be represented at the location of the Central Server and see the results arrive? @inecnigeria” Keyamo tweeted to INEC.

PDP Accuses APC Of Planning Results Manipulation

A few days ago, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused the APC of planning to rig the forthcoming general election.

According to the PDP, the APC plans to hack into INEC’s server to manipulate the results to favour its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State made the claim during the party’s recent campaign rally held at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano State.

“We are aware they have brought in hackers to hack the BVAS and to hack the INEC server,” Tambuwal said.

He insisted that the PDP would do all it could to stop them.

In a bid to enhance the transparency of elections in Nigeria, INEC introduced a dedicated public election result viewing portal known as INEC Result Viewing (IReV) in 2020.

The IReV was introduced alongside the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS), which uses face and fingerprints for voter verification

INEC also says it would include body odour as part of its voter verification in the near future.

People have continued to wonder what role body odour will play in the process.
