If you are a Glo subscriber, you may not be able to call MTN lines with that line very soon.

This is because the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) permitted MTN to partially disconnect Glo.

Due to the inability of Globacom to settle its interconnect charges to MTN Nigeria, Glo subscribers may soon find out that their lines will not be able to connect with MTN lines.

NCC’s Director of Public Affairs Department, Reuben Muoka, announced the approval of the partial disconnection in a public notice signed by the commission on Monday.

It read: “Globacom was notified of the application made by MTN and was allowed to comment and state its case.

“The Commission, having examined the application and circumstances surrounding the indebtedness, determined that Globacom does not have sufficient or justifiable reason for non-payment of the interconnect charges”.

The NCC revealed that at the expiration of 10 days from the date of this notice, “subscribers of Globacom will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls”.

It added that “the partial disconnection, however, will allow in-bound calls to the Globacom network”.
