Insecurity: CCTV Surveillance To Cost Niger Govt N478.9 Million


The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, has budgeted N478.9 million for the purchase and installation of CCTV surveillance systems to strengthen the internal security in the state.

According to the government, the funds will also enable the purchase of security gadgets for operatives around Minna, the state capital and the 25 local government areas of the state.

The development was disclosed on Friday by the Commissioner/Deputy Chairman Planning Commission in the state, Malam Zakari Abubakar during a press conference on the 2023 proposed budget estimate breakdown in Minna.

Abubakar said Governor Bello’s administration has also penned N38 billion for education, healthcare and social services.

He said that N16.5 billion was allocated mainly to the educational sector in the 2023 budget.
