Hope Uzodinma enjoyed a landslide victory in his reelection bid, as Imo State Governor, defeating the LP and PDP challengers
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday declared Hope Uzodimma, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the governorship election in Imo State.
The returning officer, Professor Abayomi Fasina, said Uzodimma polled the majority of lawful votes and satisfied the requirements of the law.
Fasina said Uzodimma scored 540,308 votes, while the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Samuel Anyanwu, polled a total vote of 71,503.

He said the Labour Party, LP, candidate, Athan Achonu, scored 64,081 votes to take the third position.
Although the result has been declared, the Imo guber election was marred with reports of violence and election malpractice.
It was one of three off-cycle elections held on Saturday, the others being elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
