This follows earlier claims by an online news platform that the DSS carted away sensitive files from the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the ICPC.

According to the report, the DSS carried out a secret raid on CCB and ICPC.

The report also revealed that they carted away files implicating President Tinubu and some of his close aides.

No File Implicating Tinubu

However, the ICPC in a statement on Saturday advised members of the public to disregard the allegation of a raid on its office.

It added that no file implicating President Tinubu or any of his close aides are domiciled at its headquarters or any of its state offices across the federation.

The full statement debunking the allegation reads:

“The attention of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has been drawn to a news report by Saharareporters.

The report was titled “Secret Police, DSS Carts Away Files Implicating President Buhari, Close Aides from ICPC, CCB.

“The Commission hereby refute the report by Saharareporters.

The agency state unequivocally that there were no files implicating President Tinubu or close aides at its headquarters or offices across the states.

Therefore the reports of carting away of such imaginary files is unfounded and should be disregarded by the public.

“Whether Commission does not dispute the role of the media to inform the public.

However, the irresponsible practice and non-adherence to the tenets of the journalism profession by some media outlets is disturbing.

“For the umpteenth time, the Commission wishes to urge media organisations not to allow the use of their medium to propagate lies and unfounded reports by subversive agents.
